Creating Usernames in a Mobile App using a Wireless Sensor Network (SDN) and an App Store Account Number (Extended Version)

You can set your settings and choose “Profile” to create a usernames. After you create a unique username, you can generate a QR code or link that points people to your username in the app. Other users can also connect with you by typing your username into the new chat bar and sending a message. Other users will be allowed to claim your previous name, even if you change your usernames whenever you want according to the FAQ page. Signal first started testing usernames last fall.

The app will hide your number if you don’t have it in your phone. If you want to change it, go to your settings and select Privacy > Phone Number. Who knows my number. All of these features are only available in the beta version of the app, so you might have to wait a few more weeks if you have the regular version of the app.
