The iPad Pro vs. the Air is a spec comparison

Creating Custom Pencils for Artists and Digital Artists with a 120Hz Refreshable Apple Pencil: The Case of James Cuda

The max refresh rate of 120Hz is supported by the iPad Pro, which is similar to the iPad Air. iPad Pro users will enjoy a smooth scrolling and gaming experience, while digital artists will enjoy greater responsiveness when drawing with the Apple pencil.

App developers can also create their own custom interactions for the Apple Pencil Pro. James Cuda provides examples of brushes that can respond in completely new ways thanks to the Barrel Roll feature or the squeeze feature. The Barrel Roll feature allows for moving and rotating objects at the same time.

Adding support for Apple’s Find My device location system is welcome for scatterbrained users who lose their stylus frequently. It can be hard to misplace a pencil-shaped device, and I know how difficult it is to get a replacement for an Apple Pencil, which will inevitably turn up months after you have already torn your home apart.

The Case for an Aluminium Magic Keyboard for the iPad Mid-Radio/Product II: Design and Features

The Magic Keyboard accessories will not work with the iPad Pro when it launches in the spring of next year. That means only iPad Pro owners will be able to use the high-end aluminum keyboard, which is both lighter and thinner than previous models. It also features a bigger, more responsive trackpad, comes in two colors, and sports new features like a function key row.

I can empathize that Apple customers are familiar with and generally love the Air branding — and that you can’t really call this the iPad Mid. Words have meaning. Marketing geniuses could have come up with a clever word for that if Apple meant this to be a mid-range iPad.

The new iPad Air comes in blue, purple, starlight, and space gray. The 13-inch model costs $799, while the 11-inch version costs $599. 128GB of base storage is included with both models, as well as the option for 512 and 1 terabytes of storage.

One of the major changes in the Pro models is a switch from glass to liquid crystal displays, and this could be a great feature for creatives. There are more things to like, such as a new M4 chip with a 50 percent faster performance than the Apple M2 chip, and a new 10-core GPU that supports mesh shading and ray tracing. The repositioned front-facing Face ID camera on the new iPad Pro, along with its better rear cameras, allow for less awkward video calls.

Realistically, you won’t probably lose much processing power by sticking with the 256GB and 512GB storage tiers. The chip with a 10-core graphics card features the same memory bandwidth and hardware-accelrated ray tracing as the one without. With six efficiency cores each, which are designed to handle more mundane, less demanding day-to-day tablet tasks, you’d be hard-pressed to notice much of a difference in ordinary use.

So far, Apple hasn’t really justified even the power of the M1 chip in my iPad Pro, but the company is trying to. The new aluminum Magic Keyboard really makes the tablet look more laptop-like, especially with that function row up top. Apple has designed Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro for the iPad with real power in mind.

The 10th-gen iPad at the Apple Live Multicam Experiment: Overview and First Look at Some New Accessories and Updated Software (Extended Abstract)

Final Cut Camera is designed to be used for live multicamera production. The app syncs with the updated Final Cut Pro app and lets users “connect multiple iPhones or iPads to capture additional angles during a live multicam shoot or record professional video.”

Key to the new Pro’s appeal are its two new accessories — the new Apple Pencil Pro and the upgraded Magic Keyboard. The Magic Keyboard looks and feels really nice. The new version has an aluminum body and bigger trackpad than previous versions. The goal was clear, and it felt like typing on my MacBook Air.

The price of Apple’s 10th-gen iPad will be $349 instead of the previous price of $2199 with the new iPad Air and iPad Pro. That is $100 cheaper than its previous starting price.

Apple took the wraps off of it’s new processor during its event. It is built with a more efficient process to make use of, and it comes with a 10 core Processor and 10 core Graphics Card. Apple says the chip’s CPU is 50 percent faster than the M2, making it “an outrageously powerful chip for AI.”

Additionally, Apple revealed new AI-powered features for its digital audio workstation, Logic Pro, including a new virtual bass player and keyboard player.

Apple just wrapped up its “Let Loose” event, where it showed off the newest additions to its iPad lineup in nearly two years. But the event had more than just iPads — we also got a first look at some refreshed accessories and updated software.

The 11- and 13-inch versions of the tablets also ship, but only the Pro model comes with Apple’s new Ultra-Retina XDR display that uses two OLED panels in tandem for increased brightness. It is possible for the iPad Pro to provide up to 1,600 nits of full-screen brightness for SDR content and up to 1,000 nits of full- screen brightness forHDR content.

It’s such a big difference that the larger model, which I’ve always felt was kind of preposterously huge, feels much more comfortable to hold and use. (And it’s technically even larger now, up to 13 inches from 12.9 before1) You can tell the difference between the Pro and the new Air from practically across the room, and as someone who has carried around an 11-inch Pro for the last year and a half, it’s really a big difference. I have a big question about whether or not the new Pro is too thin. It feels sturdy enough in my hands but there are always tradeoffs with devices like this. We have lots of testing to do.

The 2024 iPad Pro and Nano-Tilted Glass: A Comparison of Powerful 2TB and 1TB Computes for Art Decoherence

The sizes are in either silver or space gray. It’s worth noting that the 2024 iPad Pro also comes with the option to add nano-textured glass at checkout, but only if you’re buying a 1TB or 2TB model. For a $100 premium, the upgraded glass is said to reduce screen reflectivity and scatter ambient light without a big impact on overall contrast and image quality, making it easier to do creative work in brighter conditions.

To help you decide which tablet makes the most sense for you, we’ve compared the raw specs of both and highlighted the main differences so you can make an informed decision. We will soon be publishing our full reviews of both tablets, so be sure to check back.
