The Asus Vivobook S 15: A 12-core Snapdragon X Elite or 10-core X Plus processor with AI-ready graphics processing power

The StoryCube app on the Pocobook S 15 uses Artificial Intelligence to sort, edit, and manage photos and video files. It is rumored that the power of the NPU will help with applications like Windows Studio Effects and Cocreator.

The new Vivobook S 15 will have the same OLED display as the previous Intel generation (15.6-inch, 16:9, 2880 x 1620, 120Hz refresh rate, and 600 nits peak HDR brightness), but this specific version will have a thinner chassis and display bezels. The S 15 is configurable with either a 12-core Snapdragon X Elite or 10-core X Plus processor, although the Elite chip will be the base version — the one with a slower integrated GPU and no dual core boost.

Both S 15 configurations can handle up to 32GB onboard memory and 1TB of PCIe 4.0 SSD storage and have two USB-A ports, two USB 4.0 Type-C ports, one HDMI 2.1, an audio / mic combo jack, and a microSD card reader. There’s also Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

The Asus Vivobook S 15 with a Snapdragon X Elite is available to preorder from select retailers right now but won’t ship until June 18th. The lowest price for the 16g and 1tb version will be available from multiple retailers but the most expensive one will only be available from a single store, Costco. There isn’t much information on how much the X Plus model is going to cost.

Microsoft also announced the new Surface Laptop, which similarly offers the AI-ready Snapdragon X Elite and Plus chips. The device features a refreshed design with thinner bezels and a haptic touchpad. Microsoft says the device is more than 80 percent faster than its previous generation and offers up to 22 hours of local video playback.

Copilot Plus PCs: A High Performance AI Assistant for Windows X-Like Processors and Prototype Penta-Memory

One of the major AI features available within Copilot Plus PCs is Recall. The log tool works with your device to log everything you do on your computer in order to search for and retrieve the content you have interacted with. You can use that to find a conversation you’ve had in apps like Discord, or a specific PowerPoint slide you were working on.

In Windows 11 Microsoft is adding Copilot to more areas. The AI assistant will be able to provide suggestions within the Settings menu, edit files within File Explorer, or write responses to notifications you receive.

Microsoft’s new Surface Pro — sans model number — swaps out the last-gen’s Intel Core Ultra processor for Snapdragon X Elite and Plus chips from Qualcomm. It’s up to 90 percent faster than the previous Surface Pro, and it comes with the option for an OLED display panel for the first time.

The 13-inch Surface Pro starts at $999.99 and is available in four colors, including blue, beige, black, and platinum. When attached or detached, it works with a new Surface Pro Flex Keyboard.

Microsoft is partnering with companies like Adobe to optimize their apps for Copilot Plus PCs. The native Arm64 versions of Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Firefly, and Express will be available on Copilot Plus PCs today, while Illustrator and Premiere Pro will be available this summer. Copilot Plus PCs will have the benefit of some of the features contained in Djay Pro.
