Amazon Prime Day: A Tale of Two Deals (It’s a Wonderful Time of Year, I’m afraid I won’t)

Update, July 16th: Adjusted pricing and removed expired deals where needed. There are new deals like the J Lab Go Air Pop and the Samsung Buds 2 Pro.

I don’t know how people wear headphones during the summer. I’m strictly in earbuds mode when the temperatures climb this high. But no matter your preference, Amazon Prime Day is a great opportunity to upgrade your aging gear (and declining battery life) with the latest and greatest from Bose, Samsung, Sony, and plenty of other brands.

Amazon’s annual Prime Day sale is here through July 17th, offering you a chance to save big on all kinds of gadgets and endless amounts of other junk you probably don’t need. We are here to help you separate the wheat from the chaff.

Even though Apple will be updating its products in the coming months, there is nothing wrong with purchasing a current version at some of these prices. You’ll want to check back often, as we’ll be adding the best deals as they come up.

If you want to listen to your music in peace, the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds are the best earbuds out there. You can read our review.

Sony’s noise-canceling headphones still provide plenty of bang for your buck, with excellent ANC, lively sound, and lengthy battery life. They’re not the company’s latest, but they remain an excellent buy.

The invite only deal on the Sony wh-ch520 is a great chance for early Prime Day practice. You have to be a Prime member in order to purchase the tan model, which goes on sale for an all-time low of $35. 99 on July 16 and 17th. If selected, Amazon will email you details on how to complete your purchase, which is how invite-only deals will work throughout the event.

The lowest price for an entry level Echo Bud at Amazon is $24.99 for Prime members. There are not many earbuds with seamless support, water resistance, and multipointBluetooth for this price range that have premium features like noise cancellation. They will last up to six hours per charge, or 20 hours with the included charging case.

The new Echo Buds have a semi- open design that will make it easier to remain aware of your surroundings. They also integrate with Alexa and support multipoint pairing.

The JLab Go Air Pop are an affordable pair of wireless earbuds with eight hours of battery life (or 32 hours with the included charging case). The case also has a charging plug in it.

The HyperX Cloud III Wireless Controller for the Nerf Needle Halo, Ember Mug 2 and Sony InZone H3

The Nerf Needle HALOr is a dart blaster that shoots up to 10 darts from its rotating drum feed. The light-up blaster is a pretty faithful recreation of the Needler, one of the mainstay Covenant weapons from the Halo game franchise, and it comes with a display stand to show it off.

The Ember Mug 2 is a temperature-controlled smart mug that keeps beverages hot. The accompanying iOS and Android apps allow you to dial in a specific temperature, from 120 to 145 degrees Fahrenheit.

The AirFly Duo Bluetooth transmitter and receiver features an integrated 3.5mm cord and long-lasting battery life. It is a great choice for listening to in-flight entertainment as it can connect up to two sets of headphones.

Western Digital has storage expansion cards that match the performance of the consoles’ onboard storage. They have a slightly cheaper alternative to the expansion cards which was the only game in town for many years.

120 hours of battery life and large 53mm drivers are included with the HyperX Cloud III Wireless, which you can use on your PC, PS1, and Nintendo Switch. The Cloud has a legacy of low weight and excellent comfort.

The Charge 6 and Yeedi Vac 2 Pro: Robot Vacuums and Best Amazon Prime Day Deals Gadgets

The Charge 6 has a side button, an improved heart rate app, turn by turn navigation and the ability to show your heart rate on your gym equipment. Our review can be found here.

The L20 Ultra is a great all around bot that can remove its mop pads to vacuum carpet and do the splits with its mops to better clean your baseboards. The X30 and X40 Ultra models have more advanced cleaning features, but it is still an excellent robot vacuum.

The Q5 Pro has a big bin that can fit in an auto-empty dock, making it a great budget option when it’s on sale. It also has a small water tank built in. It has dual rubber brushes, lidar mapping, and keep-out zones, and the app is very good.

The Yeedi Vac 2 Pro has high-end features — an oscillating mop, big bin, mapping, keep-out zones — for a low price. Its navigation can be spotty and its suction power is a lowish 3,000Pa, but you can get it for under $200, which is a real bargain. Read our review.
