The Bitcoin Bros go wild for Donald Trump

Virtual Currency Against Persecusion: Donald Trump During the First 100 Days of Trump Presidency in the U.S.

There will be a council tasked with creating regulatory guidance for the benefit of the industry in the first 100 days of Trump’s presidency. He said he wanted the US to become the “crypto capital of the world.”

The US government has more than 210,000 blocks of the virtual currency seized in illegal operations like Silk Road and BitConnect. It’s worth approximately $14 billion at time of writing.

Rumors have been going around that the endorsement of a reserve from Trump could bolster the price of the virtual currency.

“I will always defend the right to self-custody,” he told the exultant crowd. It was a day one promise to fire Gary Gensler that got the biggest cheer.

“The moment I am sworn in, the persecution stops and the weaponization against your industry ends,” he said, name-checking Democratic senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts as the industry’s sworn enemy.

The crowd expected the bitcoin strategic reserve announcement. On July 22, Senator Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming posted “Big things … in store this week” on X, two days before Fox Business reported she would “announce legislation for a strategic bitcoin reserve” at the conference.

Lummis appeared before the crowd just after Trump walked off to announce a “present to President Donald Trump”: the bitcoin reserve bill she’d been drafting.

“This is our Louisiana Purchase moment,” she said, elaborating that the bill would take “the bitcoin President Trump just mentioned and pull it into the reserve—[and] that’s only the beginning.”

Five percent of the world’s Bitcoins will be held for a minimum of 20 years and can be used to reduce our debt.

People line up to take their picture next to a cardboard cutout of former President Donald Trump; fist in the air, blood on his face post assassination attempt. Above them a second copy of the cutout rotates atop a tower of bitcoin mining equipment. His hand has been superimposed with a large amount of digital currency.

If you’re not a member of the bitcoin community, you’d be forgiven for thinking the conference is full of Trump supporters. The halls pop red with bright baseball caps, but look closer: Most of them say “Make Bitcoin Great Again,” not “America.” The MBGA hat is for fun and not political, according to one person wearing it.

The presidential candidate is one of the first major party nominees to accept donations in digital currency. He has received more than four million dollars as of July 25. The pair of twins who founded a trading platform were called out by Trump in his speech for having a big, beautiful brain. Jesse Powell, CEO of the exchange Kraken, wrote that he made a $1 million donation to Trump mostly in ether. Trump is courting the industry, and they’re courting him back.

The conference organizers at BTC Media made it clear that this is not a Trump rally. I am assured that it is a bitcoin rally. The donor dinner hosted by David Bailey was held in Nashville at a rate of $844,600 per seat. A conference organizers say President Joe Biden was invited to speak, and then Vice President Harris dropped out of the race and endorsed her. “Would be very savvy of her to reset the democrat positioning on the fastest growing voter block in the country,” Bailey posted to X on July 23.

Harris did not attend. Instead Trump, and Independent Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. represent. Of the 10 politicians on the conference’s speaker list, only two were Democrats.

Most of the men at the meeting said their voting plans were for the year 2024. One attendee described the Democratic party to me in a very dangerous way. Others think that the left leaning media is biased and ask whether I think the shooting of Trump was staged, or who directs what I write.
