We are very close to a robot vacuum that can climb stairs

SharkNinja: A Self-raising Robot Vacuum, Mopping, and Cleaning Over Carpets and Rugs with DuoClean Detectors

For those who prefer chores but still don’t like cleaning bins, SharkNinja has a new stick vacuum with its own auto-empty ability, too. The new vacuum increases its efficiency when it finds more dirt and corners and edges.

But its neater trick is its “DuoClean Detect” nozzle that picks up dirt and debris in both forward and reverse motions while also resisting human hair getting wrapped up. It also has an articulating stick to get under furniture easily, and it can fold further to stand up by itself without needing to be placed back in the charge station.

As well as helping the robot get around your house more easily and avoid getting stuck, the new mobility means the Curv can now clean mid-to-long pile carpets.

The NeverTouch Pro uses lidar for mapping and navigation, and SharkNinja says it can also sense dirt and will increase vacuum power to grab more. The EdgeDetect function can move the mop over and wipe up to the Kickboards, and it also uses a blast of air to get debris out of both edges and corners.

The station needs a top-up for their cleaning solution tank every now and then, but it takes about a month. The station also collects dirt from the robot for up to 45 days, and there’s no bag you need to purchase, just remove the bin, empty, wash, and reinstall.

SharkNinja has a new robot vacuum and mop that picks itself up over carpets, rugs, and other obstacles so that it can escape situations where it might get stuck and also prevent the transfer of wet messes from one place to another. The Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra is one of the tallest, as the lift tilts the robot up to 20mm. But SharkNinja claims no other robot vacuum on the market is designed to lift the entire robot.

The Qrevo Curv is a stair-climbing robot vacuum that can lift itself up and over room transitions as high as 40mm.

AdaptLift Chassis is the signature self-raising feature and it can be used to raise the robot up to 30mm and 40mm.

The Qrevo Curv and Edge for the next generation of AI obstacle avoidance prostheses: a new flexible arm-arc brush system

The redesigned brush system comprises two shorter brushes with spiral blades and bristles that should push the hair off the role and into the vacuum and a curved FlexiArm Arc side brush that stops hair from getting tangled in it.

The Qrevo Curv features Roborock’s reactive AI obstacle avoidance tech, which uses a built-in camera to avoid common household clutter. It’s launching this month for €1,499.99 (US pricing is still TBD) alongside the Qrevo Edge, which sports the same features but a more traditional-looking base station in black.
