US President Donald Trump has said he’ll buy Tesla CEO Elon Musk a new car. “I am going to buy one for him (Musk) as a show of confidence and support. He is a very special person,” Trump said while adding that he would keep the car at the White House for staffers to use. Earlier, Trump had said he would buy Musk a new car.
The Apple MacBook Air is more power for less money
Apple has released its MacBook Air M4 laptop, which is priced at $999 (over 76,000), $100 less than its previous version. The MacBook Air M4 has an Intel Kaby Lake processor with up to 8GB of memory and has a 60-inch LED-backlit display. The high configuration of the MacBook Air M4 will sell for $2,199 (over 17,000).
Trump’s DOJ doesn’t seem to mind if Google is broken up
The US Department of Justice has filed a revised proposal with a judge, asking him to force Google to sell its web browser Google Chrome and potentially Android as punishment for monopoly. Last year, Judge Amit Mehta found Google guilty of monopoly and fined it $1 billion. The DOJ had accused Google of anticompetitive practices to protect its search dominance.
The ancient humans are believed to have used bone tools one million years ago
Scientists in Tanzania have found a cache of animal-bone tools that are more than 1.5 million-year-old. They found 27 bones in Tanzania that have been honed into sharp tools almost 40 cm long. The findings suggest deliberate production of bone tools happened much earlier than previously thought, thereby pushing back the manufacture of bone tools by a million years.
Blue Ghost private glider has reached the moon
Firefly Aerospace’s Blue Ghost mission on Sunday made history as the first private cislunar (lander) to land on the Moon. “We want to thank NASA…for entrusting in the Firefly team,” Firefly Aerospace’s Chief Technology Officer Shea Ferring said. The company’s two-metre-high cislunar will carry a drill and a ‘planetvac’ to scoop the lunar dirt, among other experiments.

NASA has successfully landed its Blue Ghost mission on the Moon, making it the second private mission to land on the Moon after Intuitive Machines’ Odysseus last year. Blue Ghost is a lunar lander designed for human exploration, with a drill and a ‘vac planet’ to scoop the lunar dirt. This is also the first time a private mission has landed on the Moon.

Lenovo showcased a 13-inch laptop concept with a screen that flips and folds to turn it into an 18-inch laptop with a 4:6 aspect ratio. Lenovo’s Smart ForcePad trackpads can be used as an app launcher and serve as a number pad or button for your mic. The touchscreen OLED display also folds over the top of the lid.

Xiaomi has released its new 15 Ultra flagship, which has a quadruple rear camera setup. It has the same one-inch Sony LYT-900 sensor as last year but has ditched the variable aperture. The main camera uses a fixed f/1.63 approach and has a 4.3-inch periscope lens, which uses a 1-inch sensor and a fast f/2.6 maximum shutter speed.

Samsung has announced the availability of its new Galaxy A36, A26 and A56 smartphones in the US on March 26. All three devices have Gorilla Glass Victus+ for better scratch and shatter resistance, first employed on phones like Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S22 series from 2022. The devices will ship with Android 15 and will be available in a range of colours.
GPT- 4.5 is not a frontier model according to Openai
OpenAI has announced that it will release GPT-4.5, its newest AI model for writing, programming, and problem-solving, on February 31. OpenAI added that the model is not a frontier model but its largest LLM. “It is OpenAI’s largest LLM, improving on GPT-4’s computational efficiency by more than 10x,” OpenAI said in an internal document leaked ahead of its announcement.
