The cheap phones you can afford to spend on a camera with a battery last through the night: A review of Lauren Goode’s review

If you found your way to this review, then you already know that you don’t want to shell out over $1,000 for an Apple product. You don’t find metallurgical advances alluring, you don’t care about an extra Action Button, and you don’t fancy yourself a budding filmmaker—pardon me, content creator—who at any moment might go viral. You’re a normie, and you own it.

You don’t want to fall in love with your phone. A camera with a battery that lasts late into the night is what you need for an Apple device.

Lauren Goode, my coworker, wrote a review of the cheaper phones if you’re wondering about them. Here, we’ll dive into the Pro.

I forgot my USB-C cable: A review of Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max model focusing on the performance of ProRes 4K

When I arrived at JFK Airport in New York City to fly out for the Apple event last week, I forgot a Lightning cable to recharge my iPhone. I did not pack threeUSB-C cables. That’s because my camera charges with USB-C. My camera, my phone, my laptop, and my Nintendo switch are all involved. You are aware of the idea. The new port means I can charge my devices with the same cable. I’ve been able to share USB-C accessories between my laptop and the iPhone too. It’s a whole new world.

Even though the Pro Max features more features and a price increase, it’s not as good as the larger Pro model if you want Apple’s best mobile hardware.

Here’s the problem. To take advantage of the many high-performance features that USB-C enables, like data transfer speeds of up to 10 gigabits per second, connecting to an external display, and writing to a solid state drive to record videos in ProRes 4K at 60 frames per second, you will have to buy another cable instead of using the one Apple provides in the box. It’s a Pro iPhone. Apple could have added a Pro cable with more advanced specifications required to do Pro work.

The Action Button is a Mute Switch (Its a Pro-Max), but it’s Difficult to Reach

The action button replaces the old one on the side of the phone. I have seen phones with a button that’s changeable for years. Apple lets you press and hold the Action Button to trigger things like the flashlight, the camera, voice memos, and even Shortcuts. Anyone who thinks they might miss the Mute switch should know that the Action Button is a Mute switch by default; tapping it toggles the phone’s ringer to vibrate. It would have been nice to have double-tap or triple-tap actions with this button. The placement is also a little awkward and hard to reach, specifically on the Pro Max.
