You may notice a notice when you select Open that your phone isn’t permitted to install unknown apps and you have to change that in the settings. There will be a link to your Settings in the notice; tap it.

If you want to be safe from other outside apps being installed on your phone, you can go back into Settings > Apps > Special app access > Install unknown apps > Chrome and toggle Allow from this source off.

I couldn’t create a video even if I used TikTok in both browsers on my phone. When I tried to open another app on my camera, I got a notice that the site was trying to open the Tik Tok app, and when I hit Allow, it tried to download the pretend TikTok app.

This is not even mentioning the frustration of the pop-ups and nudgings telling me that I could download the app, which was not available to download, despite the pop-ups and nudgings.

Apple has a lot of checks in place to make sure users are visiting the correct region’s App Store. It is a lot more difficult than just setting your location in the US and using a VPNs in order to get around that.

The president is said to have recently tapped Vice President of ByteDance and potential buyers,JD Vance, to lead the negotiations. One reported scenario would involve Oracle and a group of other investors taking control of the platform.
