A US appeals court on Tuesday overturned the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) net neutrality rule that would have prevented internet service providers from favouring certain websites over others. “The existence of a fact or a thought in one’s mind is not ‘information’ like 0s and 1s used by computers,” the ruling read. The net neutrality rule was repealed by the FCC in 2017.
The driver of the cybertruck likely died from a gunshot wound to the head
The driver of the Cybertruck that exploded in front of the Trump hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday was identified as 37-year-old Master Sgt Matthew Alan Livelsberger. Livelsberger had served in the US Army from January 2006 to March 2011. The FBI and local law enforcement officials are still looking for a motive.

An explosion caused by “very large fireworks and or a bomb carried in the bed” of a Tesla Cybertruck in Las Vegas, Nevada on Wednesday killed at least one person and critically injured two others. Tesla CEO Elon Musk said the blast was caused by very large fireworks and/or a bomb carried in the bed of the rented Cybertruck.

A pickup truck rented through the Turo app exploded in Las Vegas on Thursday morning, killing at least one person and injuring several others, according to officials. Elon Musk said a bomb was carried into the bed of the Cybertruck, but it was not related to the vehicle itself. He added all vehicle information was positive at the time of the explosion.
A cyber incident in which Chinese hackers were able to access documents was claimed by the Treasury
The US Treasury Department revealed that it was hacked earlier this month, which allowed attackers to remotely access some computers and certain unclassified documents. The department said it took seriously all threats against its systems and the data it held. The US Department of Homeland Security is investigating the attack which was attributed to Chinese state-sponsored culprits.
The Supreme Court has been asked by Trump to delay the start of the ban
US President Donald Trump asked the Supreme Court to stay a bill that would have barred him from selling his TikTok app, claiming he “seeks the ability to resolve the issues at hand through political means” once he takes office. Trump added he possesses “the consummate deal-making expertise, the electoral mandate, and the political will to negotiate a resolution to save the platform”.
Some Amazon workers plan to go on strike Thursday
Amazon has said that it has “haven’t seen any impact on our operations” from the strikes by its workers in several US cities. “We appreciate all our team’s great work to serve their customers and communities, and are continuing to focus on getting customers their holiday orders,” the company added. Amazon has claimed that the unions were harassing and intimidating its employees.
Unless Trump steps in, the US drone ban may be banned automatically
The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has urged local agencies to scout for drone launch sites near critical assets, warned against further attacks on illegal drones and advised them to reposition CCTV cameras to capture evidence of airborne threats. The agency has also encouraged local agencies to use a legal sensor capable of detecting and identifying commercial drones.
The New Jersey drones hysteria shows that no one knows anything
Donald Trump has cancelled a trip to his golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey after drones were spotted at the course, according to reports. The US President-elect said he cancelled the trip because drones were spotted there. “This is something that I will be dealing with very soon,” he added. However, Trump later said he had cancelled the trip due to the drone sightings.

A pig kidney has become the world’s first gene-edited organ to be successfully transplanted into a human, according to US’ New York University Langone Medical Centre. The kidney was given to a 59-year-old woman who has been waiting for an organ for nearly 16 years. However, the procedure is expected to take four to six months to complete.
