The US Department of Energy (DOE) has awarded a grant for research on 2D heavy-fermion materials. High-magnetic-field transport and tunnel diode Oscillator measurements were performed at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory which is supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the State of Florida. Equipment support was provided by the US Air Force Office of Scientific Research via grant FA9550-21-1-037.
Microsoft’s new Copilot Pro brings Office features to other people
Microsoft has said that its AI-powered collaboration platform Copilot will be available for consumers soon. The platform, launched in November 2017, will offer access to Copilot’s latest models as a subscription. It will be able to create PowerPoint decks with a Word document, and users will be able to summarize meetings they never attended or arrived late.

The US Senate has requested the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to provide records from its oversight of Boeing and a key parts supplier, Spirit AeroSystems, in connection with an Alaska Airlines 737 Max 9 aircraft blowout. This comes after a quality-control inspector working at a Spirit AeroSystems plant reported finding an “excessive amount of defects” at a plant in Kansas.

This is the first time that an ETF has been approved for Bitcoin.

Earlier, a federal court had ruled that the SEC’s refusal to approve a Grayscale ETF was “arbitrary and capricious”.

Mercedes-Benz has said it is working with a range of technology partners to implement the latest advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing. This comes after Intel CEO Brian Krzanich had said that Intel’s AI chips will be deployed inMercedes-Benz vehicles. Intel said its chips will help vehicles offer better voice assistants, video conferencing capabilities and options for rear-seat passengers.

Mercedes-Benz has partnered with Google’s artificial intelligence (AI) startup OpenAI to add generative AI to its in-car voice assistant, which will be available by this year-end. This AI will be used for natural dialogue and answers to customers’ questions, the German automaker said. The voice assistant will rely on an LLM for natural dialogue and answers to customer questions.

Supernal, a US-based company that wants to replace noisy helicopter and regional plane with all-electric, multi-rotor vehicles, unveiled its electric vertical takeoff and landing prototype at the CES 2020. Supernal said its aircraft will operate as quietly as a dishwasher. The S-A2 will emit 65 decibels in vertical takeoff and landing phases and 45 decibels while cruising horizontally, it added.
