TikTok is unavailable in the US and not available from the app stores

The US President Joe Biden has suggested TikTok to raise its concerns with President-elect Donald Trump about a new law which requires apps to remove TikTok content from their platforms. Biden said that he’d like to know how TikTok plans on complying with the law. TikTok has asked Apple and Google not to remove the app from their app stores.

The US is going to increase tariffs on things that come from China

The White House said China’s unfair trade practices didn’t meet US President Joe Biden’s goals for increasing exports or stopping theft of intellectual property. “The tariffs…weren’t increased,” a White House official said, adding the administration has downplayed the risk of retaliatory tariffs from China. Biden had increased tariffs on certain technologies including batteries and semiconductors in a move to reduce COVID-19 emissions.

Voters send a message to Biden on Gaza

The US State Department said that President Joe Biden’s recent call for a cease-fire in the Israel-friendly Golan Heights was in line with US policy. Biden had said in an interview that Israel’s Golan Heights is “a strategic asset” for America. Earlier this month, the US Supreme Court ruled that frozen embryo’s are children under the wrongful death law.

First briefing: Gaza aid deal

After talking with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and his war cabinet, US President Joe Biden announced an agreement to allow Humanitarian aid from Egypt to Gaza. At most 20 trucks will enter Gaza in the coming days, and the UN will distribute the aid. Biden wants to get an update from Israeli military officials on their strategy and the pace of their operations.
