Hours after Russia’s largest drone attack on Ukraine, Zelenskyy and Vance met in Rome
A Russian drone hit a bus in Ukraine’s northeastern Sumy region on Saturday, killing nine people and injuring others, Ukrainian officials said. The attack came hours after Russia and Ukraine had held their first direct peace talks in years that failed toyield a ceasefire. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the drone strike was a “deliberate killing of civilians”.

Israeli air strikes on Gaza Strip have killed at least 12 people, including two children, in the first outbreak of fighting since a ceasefire ended a 15-month conflict between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas in December 2018.
