This comes after Altman announced his departure from OpenAI, which he founded.

IBM has pulled its advertising from Twitter’s ‘X’ after CEO Elon Musk said that it promoted far-right talking points. Elon Musk-led social media platform X will start charging users in the Philippines and New Zealand $1 (around 80) annually to use the service. The company announced the program, called ‘Not a Bot’, as part of its efforts to curb the presence of “bots” on the site. “By charging…a few dollars or something…it could deter the creation of new fake accounts,” Musk had said.

A study conducted by Nature has found that many scientists have stopped tweeting about their scientific papers on Twitter’s experimental platform, X, as a result of Elon Musk’s decision to shut it down. The study showed that approximately half of scientists who were identified through social-media research project as having tweeted about papers on which they were an author had reduced or stopped tweeting on X.
