Relief for Palestinians in Gaza was a last resort
Israel on Thursday said that the collapse in the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza is due to the UN’s inefficiency. It said that there was a pallet that got blown across the border into Israel, while most of the others landed in northern Gaza. On Thursday, Jordan dropped seven tons of supplies over northern Gaza, the first aid shipment to the area in about a month.

Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) said it hit 250 targets in Gaza in the past 24 hours and that ground troops “continue to locate and destroy weapons, underground shafts, explosive charges and other terrorist infrastructures”. Over 16,000 Palestinians have been killed since the beginning of Israel-Hamas war on July 8, according to health officials in Gaza.

This comes after the US said that the hospital in Gaza was being used by Hamas to launch attacks.
The internet in Gaza is destroyed
The Palestine Red Crescent has said it lost contact with its operation room in Gaza after Israel carried out an air strike on the territory on Friday night. “The intense bombing…caused the destruction of all remaining international routes linking Gaza to the outside world,” it added. Aid groups said they had lost contact with their teams on the ground in Gaza.
