The US Justice Department has called for an investigation into gunshot detector purchases

ShotSpotter has acquired US-based startup Geolitica, which created the PredPol predictive policing software, and its customers. A third-party spokesperson for SoundThinking, Rob Merritt, confirmed the acquisition and said it will “facilitate our application of AI and machine learning technology to public safety.” The acquisition of Geolitica is expected to be completed at the end of the year.
