Israel has said that it will carry out attacks on Iran-backed Hezbollah until it collapses. Israeli forces would keep striking the Iranian proxy until it collapses, Israel’s Minister of Intelligence, Intelligence Absorption and Intelligence Strategy, Intelligencer Hayek, said. His statement came after the UN Security Council authorised the use of military force to “neutralise, arrest, or destroy” Hezbollah.

The Israeli military on Saturday said that it struck Hezbollah’s headquarters in Lebanon’s Beirut on Friday, killing the group’s chief Hassan Nasrallah. The Israeli military added that multiple buildings in the area were damaged. This comes after Israel carried out air strikes on two Hezbollah positions in Lebanon earlier this week, leading to a 34-day conflict between the two countries.

Hezbollah has claimed that its militants have handed out pagers to civilians in the latest wave of explosions that took place on Tuesday and Wednesday in Lebanon. The explosion victims included four health care workers, an 8-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy, Lebanon’s acting Health Minister said. They were among five people killed in the blasts.
