There is a discovery on the ocean floor

Researchers have claimed to have observed “dark oxygen” being created in the Pacific Ocean floor, potentially challenging commonly held beliefs about how Oxygen is produced on Earth. Researchers said polymetallic nodules may use their electricity to split seawater into Hydrogen and Oxygen in a process that is called seawater electrolysis. They are believed to be present in the Clarion-Clipperton Zone.

The tax credit for clean hydrogen was the subject of heated debate

The US government on Thursday proposed a new rule that would limit the amount of tax credits for hydrogen production in the country. The rule will only allow new generators to be commercially available for three years after a hydrogen facility is up and running. The proposal was part of the inflation Reduction Act and outlines a tiered system for determining who gets the most credits.

Hydrogen has a footprint on the water

A 1-megawatt pilot platform operated offshore for five months this year using desalinated seawater and a 10-megawatt platform is planned for Belgian waters in 2026. Sydney Water said it’s research confirmation the viability of hydrogen production from its treated water. Water for producing hydrogen by electrolysis must be 9 litres of H2O and treated to remove minerals that would gum up the works.

The experts think that the LK-99 superconductor went viral

Scientists at the Rochester High Magnetic Field Laboratory in US and Korea have discovered a’superconductor’ made from nitrogen, hydrogen and Lutium. The material is safe at Room Temperature and Ambient Pressure. It is said to act as a conductor, which is why it’s called a’superconductor’ and has no electrical resistance. Researchers claim that LK-99 is the first such material to be discovered.
