Google has agreed to destroy or alter billions of records of web browsing data collected when users were in ‘Incognito’ mode, as part of $5 billion class-action settlement over privacy concerns. Incognito mode allows users to browse through a website without being tracked. “We’re happy to delete old technical data that was never associated with an individual,” Google said.
