The Internet Archive lost its appeal

The US Court of Appeals in the Second Circuit has upheld a lower court’s ruling in favour of the Internet Archive against the National Library of Digital Books (NEL). The internet archive had challenged the NEL, which allowed people to check out the scanned copies of library books as though they’re regular reading material instead of ebooks.
