The robot will help to map methane pollution from space

The US has introduced the Artificial Intelligence Environmental Impacts Act of 2024 (AIEIA) to establish standards for assessing artificial intelligence’s environmental impact. The bill directed National Institute for Standards and Technology to collaborate with academia, industry and civil society to create a voluntary reporting framework for AI developers and operators. It also asks the government to encourage the use of renewable energy.
