The North Koreans fighting for Russia have become skilled in drone warfare
North Korea has up to 1.5 lakh additional troops to fight with the Russians against Ukraine, Ukraine’s military intelligence chief said. Russia has agreed to supply technology and know-how to the North Koreans on how to build long-range Shahed-style drones and improve the accuracy of short-range ballistic missiles, Kyrylo Budanov added. In early January, Ukraine captured two North Korean soldiers in Kursk.
After North claims a spy satellite launch, South Korea increases its surveillance
South Korea has suspended an inter-Korean agreement to restart frontline aerial surveillance of North Korea after it said the country launched a military spy satellite in violation of UN resolutions. North Korea is under sanctions from the UN over its nuclear and missile tests. However, North Korea could continue to monitor South Korea at all times by operating several such satellites, officials said.
