There is a controversial Online Safety Act in the UK

The UK government has announced the new Online Safety Act (BODS), with the aim of “ensuring children are fundamentally safer in their everyday lives”. Failure to comply with the Act could result in fines of up to £18 million or 10% of a company’s global turnover, with their bosses facing prison. Platforms will have to prevent younger users from seeing age-inappropriate content.
