Musk sued OpenAI because it left its mission to benefit humanity
Elon Musk’s AI company OpenAI has been “converted” into a closed-source subsidiary of Microsoft, a lawsuit claimed. “OpenAI is not just developing but is refining an AGI [Artificial General Intelligence] to maximize profits for Microsoft, rather than for thebenefit of humanity,” the filing said. “On information and belief, GPT-4 is an AGI algorithm,” it added.
The Intercept, Raw Story, and AlterNet have filed a lawsuit
Three media publications have filed lawsuits in the US against OpenAI and Microsoft over alleged copyright infringement. The publications alleged that OpenAI and Microsoft were aware of potential copyright infringement. They said that some of the time CHATGPL reproduces works of journalism without giving Author, Title, copyright or terms of use information. They added that ChatGPT responses violated third-party copyrights.
The OpenAI gave it a memory
US-based AI startup OpenAI has created a’memory’ feature in its virtual personal assistant (GPT) Gemini Pro that lets the bot automatically remember books and genres it has previously read. OpenAI said the feature was built after it learned to stay away from proactive remembering. Gemini Pro can be used as a single-turn prompt, one back-and-forth between the user and the chatbot.
OpenAI was quiet about its promise to release documents to the public
OpenAI, founded by Elon Musk in 2015, is an artificial intelligence ( AI) lab that aims to develop powerful artificial intelligence. OpenAI’s reports to US tax authorities said that anyone can review copies of its documents, whether they are governing documents or financial statements. OpenAI said it has been following industry standards since 2000 and that includes not publicly distributing internal documents.

Mercedes-Benz has partnered with Google’s artificial intelligence (AI) startup OpenAI to add generative AI to its in-car voice assistant, which will be available by this year-end. This AI will be used for natural dialogue and answers to customers’ questions, the German automaker said. Automaker Volkswagen and AI startup OpenAI have announced that they are collaborating on a voice assistant called ‘IDA’. The voice assistant can be used to control infotainment, navigation, and air conditioning, or to answer general knowledge questions. IDA is based on Openai’s LLM technology and will be available in Volkswagen cars later this year, OpenAI said.

Demis Hassabis, Google’s VP of AI and Deep Learning, has said Google’s new AI system Gemini is “substantially” ahead on 30 out of 32 benchmarks compared to OpenAI’sGPT-4. “We’ve done a very thorough analysis of the systems side by side, and the benchmarking,” he further said. Hassabis said Gemini’s “basic models are text-in and text-out” but more powerful models like Gemini Ultra can work with images.

US-based artificial intelligence firm OpenAI has unveiled its new chatbot ‘ChatGPT’, which it claims is the first voice-commanded AI chatbot. Users will be able to use the chatbot to ask questions and have conversations, without ever leaving the platform. Earlier this month, OpenAI’s CEO Brian Altman was fired over “malfeasance” and “malfeasance related to the company’s financial, business, safety…privacy practice”.
Sam has reached agreement to return to OpenAI
OpenAI’s CEO Sam Altman has resigned after the board voted to fire him last week. Responding to Altman’s resignation, OpenAI’s Board said it has formed a new Board of Directors to “reset the governance of OpenAI”. They added that they will also appoint a new board of directors. Earlier, Altman claimed that OpenAI was the only one with a capped profit structure.
