Texas is bracing for a potential hit from a storm in the Gulf of Mexico
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) on Thursday said that Hurricane Beryl, which was the earliest Category 5 hurricane in the Atlantic, now has winds of 115 mph (185 kph) after weakening earlier Thursday. The storm is expected to make landfall near the town of Tulum, Mexico, on Friday as a Category 4 hurricane. It’s also expected to dump heavy rain in parts of Central America and the Caribbean.
