The Charge 6 is a return to form
Fitbit announced the Fitbit Charge 6 that features a new side button for the first time since the Charge 5. It also has two apps- Maps and Wallet. The heart rate tracker will be able to connect to certain exercise equipment that is compatible with the new app on the tracker. Users will be able to control YouTube Music from the wrist.
Both YouTube and Google are trying to have it both ways
Universal Music Group (UMG) is in talks with Google to license voice and music for training AI models. UMG said it would invest in building its rights management system, Content ID, updating its policies on uploading manipulated content, and deploy generative AI tools to help detect videos that violate its rules. YouTube said it would expand moderation policies to cover the challenges of AI.
Gen Z is attracted to a TikTok-like video feed
YouTube Music has announced an in-app feature called ‘Samples’ which will let users view short music video clips and discover new songs. The app is available individually or as a bundled feature with YouTube Premium. It also includes an ad-free experience on YouTube proper. YouTube Music was launched in 2017 and now has over 500 million monthly active users.
