The Apple Intelligence Program at WWDC 2015: Overview and Expectations for the Next Generation of Smartphones and Other Smart Devices, and How to Obtain More Information
Most of Apple’s revenue comes from its iPhone sales. Apple reported a steep decline in iPhone sales in the first quarter of the year, which was the largest drop since the height of the production delays.
Apple wants to strengthen the company financially and to signal to consumers its heavy investment in artificial intelligence by offering more details on its Apple Intelligence program.
The phones have a larger battery, new colors and a faster processor, the company announced. The first iPhones that were purposely built for Apple Intelligence were the iPhone 16 variations. Apple says the largest screen it has available for the iPhone 16 Pro Max is 6.9 inches.
Users can use the camera to take a photo of a restaurant and get information, or point the camera at a dog to learn its breed if they click and hold the button.
The 16 Pro also allows for videos to be recorded in 4K resolution at 120 frames per second and for better audio recording capabilities, the company said.
The writing tools will use theai features to make it easier to rewrite, fix and summarize notes and emails, Apple said.
The iPhone 16 will be Apple’s first mainstream phone to utilize Apple Intelligence in beta after an update coming in October. The company gave a preview of the artificial intelligence software at WWDC but only for the Pro level iPhone 15 models. While Apple was busy reviewing many of Apple Intelligence’s upcoming features already shown at the show, it was able to sneak a peek of a new feature calledVisual Intelligence, which allows an iPhone 16 user to search out information based on what the camera sees.
The Apple Watch Series 10 has the thinnest profile yet, along with a larger wide-angle OLED display that Apple says is up to 40 percent brighter when viewed at an angle.
