Another ban extension has been granted by Trump

Three US lawmakers have written to US President Donald Trump urging him to extend TikTok’s ban in the country. “It’d be unacceptable and unworkable for your administration to continue ignoring the requirements in the law,” they said. They added, “Any further extensions of the TikTok deadline will require Oracle, Apple, Google, and other companies to continue risking ruinous legal liability.”

Microsoft, which launched the world’s first commercial operating system with Windows 95 in October 1995, was founded by Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer in Seattle on October 24, 1966. It was later acquired by Oracle for $3 billion by Microsoft in 1994. It has since released over 200 versions of its operating system, including Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8 and Windows Azure.

What to prepare for a TikTok ban in the US

Oracle, which provide cloud infrastructure to TikTok in the US, would likely also be required to stop hosting the app’s data, as per reports. “If anybody uses your service to access TikTok and you’re in violation…it’s $5,000 per person that does that,” Kate Ruane, director of the Free Expression Project at the Center for Democracy and Technology, said.
